New Nissan Micra

The new global supermini, the car to replace the current Nissan Micra, revealed at the Geneva Show.

The car's conservative styling that doesn't take it far beyond the last model and has not set the world on fire, but Nissan will sell the new supermini as largely the same model the world over.

Built on the manufacturer's V-platform, the car will share design and components in 160 countries around the world, with UK sales commencing from this Autumn.

Designed for urban buyers, the new Micra will feature only two small three-cylinder 98bhp 1.2-litre petrol engines at first, one equipped with a stop-start system that will means emissions of 95g/km thanks to the new Micra's sub-1,000kg weight.

An intelligent parking system will assist drivers assess viable parking spaces, and there's a best-in-class turning circle.

An optional glass roof, Nissan Connect touch-screen sat nav and a raft of safety kit will also feature.
